Do Something Good

I think it’s unfair that metalheads sometimes get tagged as being uncaring barbarians.  Not true at all.  One thing we do well is help our brothers and sisters.  Benefits, donations, all sorts of stuff.

Anyway, it came to my attention that a lot of our brothers and sisters are in need of help for medical procedures, injuries, cancer.  Every little bit helps and is appreciated. 

Here’s just a few friends who are in need.  (Know someone else?  I’ll post them!) 

Covan-Decapitated. 
For anyone who may not know, when Decapitated had the bus accident that killed Vitek, Covan(then vocalist) was extremely injured as well. Since the insurance companies delayed service to Covan because the accident was in Russia, the injuries we're left to long and he was left extremely handicapped. It is somewhat possible for him to recover, but it is extremely costly on his family (EUR4000 per treatment, of which he needs many). Please try and donate to the cause as this is definitely a person who does not deserve what happened to him. And if you can, go see Decapitated on tour as some proceeds will go to Covan.

Shaun’s Wife- Putrid Pile.

Everyone who knows me, knows that 99% of the time, I ask for nothing. But this time I really need your help people. My fiancé has just been diagnosed with CANCER IN THE UTERUS. If you can donate anything, it would be great and you will help to save the life of the woman I love. Please help us out! Curtis Beeson- Denial Fiend, Nasty Savage, Fester.

Curtis was diagnosed with brain cancer, and had surgery to have a tumor removed, he is also currently undergoing radiation treatment.  He and his family need help with the medical bills.

Spike Cassidy- DRI

“The good news is DRI is going strong again…the bad news is a cancerous polyp was found and removed during my last colonoscopy in 2011.  And so, I had what was left of my colon/large intestine removed in January 2012.  There were complications, including an infection which prolonged my recovery time.  I am scheduled for a second surgery in April.”

Of course, all of this does not come cheaply- doctor bills, hospital fees, medications, etc.

Tony Lorenzo- Sons of Azrael, Ritual Quarantine.
Tony was shot and paralyzed last year.  Glorious Times put on a two day benefit and continues to auction off items for his benefit.  Aside from the medical bills, I imagine Tony will need continued treatments, medications, maybe even home renovations, a nurse, etc. You can join the facebook group to see the items for sale: http://www.facebook.com/groups/282335781823218/
